Evergreen Launches Executive Leadership Cohort for Small Food Manufacturers

In February, Evergreen and the Small Food Producers Network will be launching a year-long, application-based, Executive Leadership Cohort program for food businesses. Funding for this initiative was generously supplied by the JP Morgan Chase Foundation. Building on our core small food producer workshop and seminar programming this new initiative was developed in response to emerging needs identified in our Food + Workforce report.

As the specialty food sector in our city has grown, certain businesses have reached the stage where they are poised for strong, national (and global) growth, but often owners lack the overall experience and support network they need to take their company to the next level. The cohort program responds to this issue using a Peer Advisory Group model where business leaders engage in in-depth, peer-to-peer learning through professionally facilitated issue processing sessions, supplemented by tailored subject and skill based presentations. Together with Vistage, a pioneering and preeminent organization in the world of executive coaching, Evergreen has customized a Peer Advisory Group program specifically targeted to New York City-based small food and beverage manufacturing executives. Each group is purpose-built to help members help each other improve the performance and outcomes of their businesses. Groups meet monthly to solve problems, evaluate opportunities and work on an assortment of strategic and operational issues.
