Financial Systems – Class 2

Just about everything we do in business is tied to money, and almost all of your business-related questions — How do I set a compensation package for my new hire? How do I track their sales and pay commissions? How can I consistently estimate my services and stay on top of materials costs? — can be answered by reviewing your financials. 

For those of us who aren’t naturally inclined to delve into the numbers—fear not! Here’s where financial systems come into play, and with a little organizational effort, you’ll be able to activate and manage the various systems that drive sales, control COGS, and streamline operations. If you’re ready to tackle your financial systems and get your business running smoothly, join Evergreen Exchange and Skopos Collective for a new, five-class series all about Financial Systems Thinking! 

We’ll use real business examples, frameworks, and exercises to break down and document operational workflows, explore solutions to challenges you’re facing, develop personal Standard Operating Procedures and other critical tools to support daily financial operations, and more. You’ll develop the confidence to address the pain points that affect your financial operations and, ultimately, your profitability. You will also have dedicated time to work directly on updating your financial systems, and then share it with your peers in-class so you’ll be ready to bring it to your team for implementation.

This series combines classes with one-on-one expert advice for participants to continue the work they began in class. These strategy sessions are an opportunity to talk through questions and receive tailored answers in a private and confidential setting. Each participant will receive three hours (three 60-minute sessions) plus an additional hour of asynchronous review outside of class with Skopos Collective to get assistance applying the class concepts to your unique business model. The course is free but spots are limited. This seminar is both an online and in-person course- with in-person sessions taking place at the Evergreen offices at 2 Kingsland Ave. In both environments, the class will be interactive and attendees will be expected to participate.

Class Two: What’s In Your System?
How simple or complex is your system? What are the components? One of the main reasons business owners feel so overwhelmed with managing their Financial System is that the necessary structure, inputs, and processes aren’t in place. We will look to a real-world business system to see what’s possible and review how systems connect to the P&L and Balance Sheet. The Financial System Mindmap exercise will help us explore how the answers you need (outputs) and how you source information (inputs) connect to your desired outcomes.

Strategy Session – 60 min. // In this session, we’re going to reframe your Financial System Mindmap to show how your business operations (inputs) show up in your Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement (outputs).
