DESCRIPTION:The Meeker Avenue Plume Community Advisory Group (CAG) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday\, November 13\, 2024 in the evening at 6 pm at 2 Kingsland Ave. At this meeting\, we will discuss issues about how best to inform and protect the community about this Superfund Site and health risks. If you are interested in becoming involved with the CAG\, we are always accepting new members! \nWhat is the Meeker Avenue Plume?\nThe EPA has listed the Meeker Avenue Plume as a Superfund site\, meaning it is a heavily contaminated area slated for cleanup. The soil and groundwater at the Meeker Avenue Plume site are contaminated with chemicals harmful to human and environmental health. \nWhere is the Meeker Avenue Plume?\nThe area under investigation is in the Greenpoint/East Williamsburg area and spans several city blocks. \nWhat is a Community Advisory Group (CAG)?\nA CAG’s purpose is to provide a public forum for community members to present and discuss their needs and concerns related to the Superfund decision-making process. \nRegister here! \nIf you have any questions please contact Natalie Vichnevsky.
