SUMMARY:Company Culture: An Evergreen Seminar Series - Session 5
DESCRIPTION:The “Father of Management\,” Peter Drucker\, famously said that culture eats strategy for breakfast. Entrepreneurs who’ve started their company without intentionally creating the right corporate environment will struggle to achieve even the most inspiring vision. Especially during difficult times\, stepping back to reassess what that culture can be is vital to succeeding. This series is an excellent opportunity for business owners to revisit their culture guidelines if they have them or finally put them in place if they do not. \nJoin us and Holly Howard\, founder of the small business consultancy ‘Ask Holly How’ for this five-week seminar that will help you define critical elements of your corporate company culture and create an action plan to implement it. Here is what we’ll be covering during our time together: \n\nUnderstand that culture is not about amenities\, but rather about the environment and systems within your business\nClearly define the company purpose\, values\, and leadership philosophy\nCreate an action plan to implement corporate culture guidelines\nReflect on the current leadership and where it must stretch to build this corporate culture\nAsses how to navigate change and grow your company\n\nThis series combines classes with one-on-one expert advice for participants to build on the work they begin in class. Each participant will receive one 90-minute session\, via Zoom\, with the instructor to get assistance applying the class concepts to their unique business. \nThis seminar is for business owners with no less than six months or much more experience (including legacy businesses) who feel like they don’t have a company culture or who are interested in building or reshaping their existing company culture. Businesses that are both B2B and B2C are encouraged to apply. The course is intended for business owners or key decision makers that have the capacity to affect this aspect of the business. \nThe course is free but spots are limited. This seminar is an in-person course taking place at the Evergreen offices at 2 Kingsland Ave. The class will be interactive and attendees will be expected to be fully present and participate. \nFull details and instructor bio can be found here.\nThe application can be found here.\nApplications are due by October 11\, 2024.  \nPlease direct any questions about this course or the application to Natalie Vichnevsky.

SUMMARY:First Aid For Feedback: An Evergreen Workshop
DESCRIPTION:First Aid For Feedback\nAn Evergreen Workshop\nDecember 4\, 2024 11am-1pm \nFeedback can be a choking hazard! Whether it’s stuck in your throat because you haven’t expressed it\, or because you can’t digest it\, this workshop will walk you through the steps required to break that feedback down. \nIntrigued? Then join Evergreen and Morgan Evans of Business Casual to dig in! Over the course of two hours\, participants will learn research-backed strategies that will unlock the mystery around giving\, receiving and inviting feedback. In addition to getting a chance to practice delivering real-life feedback using a practical worksheet\, you will get a new perspective on the topic and learn an original framework that makes the whole thing feel more digestible. \nThis session provides a comprehensive and engaging introduction to effective feedback practices which creates the foundation of a healthy diet of open communication – a crucial requirement for all successful teams. \nWhat to Expect in Terms of Participation: \nThis course will take place remotely over Zoom but it is still interactive! \nThroughout the session\, there will be opportunities to chime in and respond to questions\, so you should tune in from a place where you are comfortable unmuting and coming on mic and also having your video on. For the practice portion at the start of the workshop\, you will be prompted to come up with a real-life example of feedback that you have for someone in your life. Together\, we will use a worksheet to prepare the feedback and then you will be placed in a breakout room with one other person so you can practice with your example. (There will be an invitation to share privately with the facilitator if there is anyone you would prefer not to be paired with\, should that be a concern for any reason.) \nPlease register here and direct any questions about this course to Natalie Vichnevsky.
