$3.5B in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill for Remediation of Superfund Sites
Last Friday Evergreen joined Senator Chuck Schumer and community leaders at Newtown Creek to celebrate $3.5B in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill for remediation of Superfund sites nationwide! Newtown Creek was designated a Superfund site 12 years ago and Friday we joined community groups and elected officials to demand it finally be cleaned up. Thanks to $3.5B secured for the Superfund program, the EPA will have the resources and capacity to hold the companies that polluted Newtown Creek accountable. Newtown Creek is one of the most polluted waterways in the country and it is time to clean it up!
