Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) Plan Updates January 2016
The BOA Plan is a study of the industrial North Brooklyn to analyze it, to find strategic sites for redevelopment, and to make recommendations that will protect and strengthen the industrial area. On December 1st, in collaboration with Dept. of City Planning who is also doing an industrial area study, we held the first public meeting for the project. It went very well. Approximately 85 community members, including businesses (who accounted for nearly half of this total), residents, city agencies, and elected officials, participated in an open house to share ideas on the challenges and opportunities facing the neighborhood. We are going to hold panel discussions in February and two more public meetings, likely in March and June. If you would like to get involved, please contact Stephen Fabian at firstname.lastname@example.org or 718-388-7287 x212.
