Please join the Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund (GCEF)and the McGolrick Park Neighborhood Alliance (MPNA) for the Second Annual OpenHouseGCEF on Saturday, October 14th, from 11 am to 3 pm at McGolrick Park!

This year’s OpenHouseGCEF will celebrate the McGolrick Park as a centerpiece of the Greenpoint community, and feature many of the exciting projects GCEF has funded in the park and throughout Greenpoint that are making our community a healthier, safer, and “greener” place to live. Along with your friends and neighbors, you can:

  • Plant a bulb, beautify McGolrick Park!
  • Create take-home crafts like making your own wildflower seed packet
  • Discover local trees and birds thru tree identification and bird walk and talks
  • Enjoy story-time with favorite “green” picture books
  • Discover and touch creatures in a tank from Newtown Creek!
  • See designs for the new Greenpoint Library & Environmental Education Center
  • Listen to live music
  • and much, much more!
At OpenHouseGCEF, meet with representatives from several GCEF-funded projects, including:
  • Environmental Education Shed
  • Floating Classrooms on Greenpoint’s Waterways
  • For the Birds! Greenpoint
  • Go Green Activity Hub
  • Greening Greenpoint: An Urban Forestry Plan
