Gear Up for Green: Getting Your Back Office In Order

Through targeted workshops, technical support, and peer networking, we’re building an inclusive, sustainable future for Brooklyn’s industrial sector.

Join our Gear Up For Green lunch and learn series. The Gear Up series will expose business owners to new opportunities in the green energy sector along with best practices to build capacity, connections and successfully execute public and private contracts. Whether you’re looking to build your business in the growing building electrification marketplace, qualify for contracts with sustainability goals, or connect with industry leaders, this series will help you turn opportunity into growth.

The monthly online workshops will be followed by an in-person social mixer in early March 2026.  Each of the three workshops has a distinct focus:

Gear Up For Green: Market Opportunities and RFPs – What you need to know about  Sustainability Requirements, January 14, 2026 12pm-1:30pm RSVP HERE

This session will provide a general overview of the topic and include information on:

  • Understanding New York City’s Local Law 97 and other key energy efficiency requirements, and the implications for the market
  • Where is the market heading? Clean and circular requirements and more
  • How to position your business for opportunities 
  • Understanding sustainability requirements of RFPs, bidding, and project management
  • Bidding with cost implications in mind

 

Gear Up For Green: Primer on Geothermal Energy, February 25, 2026 12pm-1:30pm RSVP HERE

This session will provide a general overview of the topic and include information on:

  • The basics of how geothermal energy systems work and where they’re being installed in NYC
  • Understanding new market opportunities for contractors, engineers, and service providers
  • Funding and incentive programs supporting geothermal projects
  • Local case studies highlighting successful green energy installations
  • Small steps businesses can take to partner on or benefit from geothermal and other clean energy projects
